At Dixieland Retrievers we take a lot of pride in all
that we do. We operate a full time retriever training facility. We also
offer all breed obedience for those clients that just need a
well-behaved companion dog. Hunt Test retrievers are our passion. We
have been competing at hunt tests with retrievers since 2000. We run
U.K.C. hunt tests throughout the United States and Canada. If you are
looking for that well rounded hunting dog you have found us. There's
nothing more rewarding than those days spent afield or in the marsh,
than those spent with your best hunting buddy, the well trained
retriever.
Our kennel facilities are located just minutes from
D/FW and the Tyler areas. Point Texas has been home to my family
since the early 1930's. Our kennels are a truly family run operation.
This long time relationship with our friends and neighbors allows us the
opportunity to have access to over 3000 acres of training
properties. With this access, we have more than 25 pieces of water to
further educate our K-9 athletes and to hone their skills. We also
have 30 acres that is fully dedicated to our yard work and technical
water ponds. We live on the kennel property to ensure the safety and
security of our clients and their investments. Consistency and
versatility are key factors in our training program.
We believe our continuing success is due to the
mentality that we take in our training methods. We look at each student
as if they are the athlete and we are their coach. We maintain a very
high standard of consistency in our daily training. It's through this
consistency and repetition that our athletes become so successful. This
not only gives our students the tools that it takes to compete in the
hunt test games, but also makes them some of the most versatile gun dogs
in the field today. This goal cannot be reached without the proper
attitude and equipment. We train our dogs on every possible hunting and
testing scenario imaginable. We do this using some of the finest
equipment on the market today. Safety and nutrition are also high on our
priorities list, we are proud of our 10 years incident free record.
